Sunday 18th Feb

  10.00am

A circular walk taking us along the track  passing Astle Farm and then along Snape Brook and through Siddington, we will walk around Redesmere and then after passing Capesthorne Hall we will head back across the fields to our start point at the layby on the A537 near Monks Heath. I would expect a few muddy places on the fields and paths  due to the recent weather.

Sunday 4th March  Astbury Mere Country Park

This easy circular route has been planned to avoid walking through boggy fields and deep mud.  However some of the paths are likely to be a bit muddy here and there.  From the Mere we will walk eastwards to reach Lamberts Lane that leads us to the canal towpath.  From the canal we will join the Biddulph Valley Way, leaving it at Tommy's Brook to make our way across the A54, then a little road walking will take us to the River Dane.  We will return alongside the river, through Congleton Park and along the River Dane Walkway through the town.

Sunday 13th  May

  10.00am

Teggs Nose

Starting at the Teggs Nose  reservoir in Langley, we will walk  though the wood about half way up the side of the hill, and hopefully see a good show of bluebells.  Crossing from there to Macclesfield Forest, we will visit Forest Chapel, then on through the forest, where paths permit. Several of the main paths are closed due to fallen trees and operations to clear them, but we can take a diversion (rather steep, and definitely muddy on the top) towards Shutlingsloe then coming back into the forest via Nessit Hill. Part of this path is closed, but we will head down towards the Rangers’ office and the car park on a rough cycle track. This brings us to the home stretch past Ridgegate reservoir, and so down to Langley.
