Sunday 10th July   10.00am

Bakewell - A walk to the village of Rowsley south east of Bakewell via Calton Pastures, Calton Lees and the Derwent Valley Heritage Way, returning via Bouns Corner and Bowling Green Farm, mainly on field paths and tracks. Two uphill sections - a climb through the woods out of Bakewell that is rather rough and stony, and a gradual out of Rowsley, rewarded by far reaching views at the top. We'll park at Bakewell Bridge Car Park, Coombs Road DE45 1AQ. All day parking is £5. I suggest we divide the cost equally amongst us.

Timbersbrook - A circular walk to Timbersbrook using the canal towpath, field paths, tracks and a short section of the Biddulph Valley Way, including a visit to Dane-in-Shaw pasture, a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), mainly because of its wild flowers.  There is not a lot of uphill walking.

New Mills - A walk to Hayfield via the Goyt Way, then an uphill path (not to steep) to  Brownhill Farm and Moor Lodge, we then cross the Moor with some great views and down into Hayfield where we will stop for our lunch break, then returning along the level path on the Sett Valley Trail to New Mills. 7 Moderate David Preston

Sunday 4th Sep

  10.00am

Rudyard - A circuit of Rudyard Lake. A fairly level walk with a couple of short inclines, one low stile, and maybe a bit of mud after all the recent deluges. As it's quite short (about 5 miles), we will finish by lunchtime, and the Rudyard Hotel Carvery will meet the needs of anyone wanting a Sunday lunch. There's also a small cafe at the lakeside for snacks, and the usual facilities.
